Freedman Law, P.C. succeeds Freedman & Freedman, P.C., which evolved out of Berman & Freedman, P.C., one of Long Island’s premier real estate law firms for almost 40 years. Established in 1978 and based in Garden City, Berman & Freedman, P.C. quickly became a leading real estate law firm under the leadership of Donald E. Freedman. In 1994, Donald's son, Daniel E. Freedman, joined the firm and became a partner several years later. In 2003, Berman & Freedman, P.C. moved its offices from Garden City to a larger space in Syosset. After enjoying over a decade of continued success in its Syosset location, Donald and Daniel decided to relocate to Melville in 2017 while simultaneously changing the name of the firm to Freedman & Freedman, P.C. Upon Donald’s passing in late 2024 followed by an office move within Melville in late 2025, Daniel rebranded the firm as Freedman Law, P.C. to coincide with the new office address.

Freedman Law, P.C. continues to share office space with the law firm of Katz Chwat, P.C., which specializes in taxation, business transactions, and trusts and estates law.  We enjoy a symbiotic professional relationship and share numerous mutual clients.
